April through December Job Summary This position is the General Manager of our retail garden shop located in Chester, NJ.
The major job functions are as follows:
Manage the day to day operations of the floral shop including floral design, retail store management, plant care, floral delivery, inventory management, ordering, and supervising seasonal staff.
There will be seasonally other duties as assigned.
Salary based on experience & qualifications.
A valid drivers license and clean driving record are required.
Work Schedule Work Hours vary by season.
This is a full time year round position with hours varying from 30 hours to 50
hours during peak season.
Saturdays are a requirement.
Report to work 15 minutes prior to scheduled start time.
Anticipated hours per week by season:
January-March:
30-40 hours per week (must work entire week of Valentines Day) April-Mid June 40-50
hours per week (must work entire week of Mother's Day) Mid June-November:
40 hours per week November-December:
40-50
hours per week Work on weekends, required Benefits 2 weeks vacation required to be taken January-April excluding Valentines Week and Easter Week Company Health Insurance Sick days as needed 20% off farm merchandise Farm apparel to be worn while at work Daily Jobs Order fresh flowers from wholesaler as needed and other shop merchandise Communicate with customers via the phone, internet and in person about custom floral work for parties, funerals, weddings and everyday flowers Ascertain what the customer wants and then give a price for those services Design and create eye catching floral/retail displays in the garden center Harvest homegrown flowers from our fields and create bouquets to sell at our storefronts (seasonal) Manage, communicate and direct seasonal retail employees Deliver floral arrangements and orders to customers as necessary Other duties as assigned Performance standards to monitor this position:
